At 10:30pm on Friday the 22nd of June 2018, members of the Neighbourhood alert team began their climb of Fairfield (2,864ft high) in aid of COPS (Care of Police Survivors). Light the lakes is an overnight event where groups climb their chosen peak from one of the 214 Wainwright Peaks in the Lake District. At 0300 hrs, each team will then light a beacon before beginning their return down.

The team that climbed Fairfield consisted of Andrew Sawford, Andy Ward, Nick Houghton, Charlie Hare, Joe Holmes, Colin Lawson & Andy Baines. If you would like to make a donation, please do so using the Just Giving link below, all donations will be greatly appreciated no matter how big or small.

This year's Light the Lakes event was based at Brathay Hall, in Ambleside whichis a venue on the edge of Lake Windermere which has supported us previously. The event involved participants from forces all over the UK, as well as other organisations and businesses.

Below is a video with a few of the pictures taken throughout the weekend in the Lakes from arrival, to climbing Fairfield through to the sunrise.
